The head of the Russian Federation will arrive in Kazakhstan to participate in the Conference on Interaction and Confidence Building Measures in Asia.

Vladimir Putin confirmed his visit to Kazakhstan to attend the Conference on Interaction and Confidence Building Measures in Asia (CICA). This was announced today on the sidelines of the VII Congress of Spiritual Leaders in Nur-Sultan by Foreign Minister Mukhtar Tleuberdi.

"The President of Russia will arrive in Kazakhstan to participate in a meeting on interaction and confidence-building measures in Asia. It is also planned to hold a council of CIS heads of state. We expect the President of Russia to take part. In mid-October. We expect official confirmation. Each visit of the heads of state is bilateral meetings," said Mukhtar Tleuberdi.

The minister also noted that a government working group had been created to prevent the negative impact of anti-Russian sanctions on the economy of Kazakhstan.

"Kazakhstan does not fall under secondary sanctions. The working group is working successfully, regular consultations are being held with the European Commission and the US administration," the Foreign Minister said.

In August 2022, as part of a working visit to Sochi, President of Kazakhstan Kassym-Jomart Tokayev invited Vladimir Putin to participate in the CIS Summit to be held in Kazakhstan in October. Tokayev said he was counting on Putin's personal involvement, "especially since Russia plays an important role in the CIS."
