The Minister of Energy of the Republic of Kazakhstan visited the Kashagan field
"On August 11, 2022, the Minister of Energy of the Republic of Kazakhstan Bolat Akchulakov arrived on a working trip to the Atyrau region," reports ATPress.kz
The working trip began with a visit to the production facilities of the North Caspian Project (NCOC).
Representatives of the Ministry, Akimat of Atyrau region, KazMunayGas NC JSC and NCOC flew around Island D at the Kashagan field.
Since the beginning of 2022, 7.2 million tons of oil and 4.4 billion m3 of associated petroleum gas have been produced at Kashagan.
During the visit to the Bolashak plant, the participants of the meeting got acquainted with the work of the Integrated Oil and Gas Treatment Unit (UKPNG), where the minister raised the issue of the progress of repair work at the Bolashak plant and commissioning of 2 compressors on Island D and the deadlines for completion all restoration work.
The Minister of Energy of the Republic of Kazakhstan instructed the management of the plant, following the results of the repair work, to submit to the ministry a detailed analysis of the causes of the recent gas leak and the work done to resume production operations.
As a reminder, on August 3, 2022, gas leakage sensors at the Bolashak plant went off, as a result of which all oil and gas complex treatment units were stopped.
An inspection is being carried out, a plan is being developed for the gradual restoration of oil production.
From August 9 to 10, the second compressor was launched on D Island, at present the daily production at Kashagan is about 100 thousand barrels. per day.
