Tokayev to visit St. Petersburg to participate in the forum on June 17
This summer, President of Kazakhstan Kassym-Jomart Tokayev will visit St. Petersburg, where he will take part in the St. Petersburg International Economic Forum (SPIEF).
Тhe head of state announced his intention to visit SPIEF yesterday, May 16, at talks with Russian President Vladimir Putin on Monday in Moscow, Interfax reports.
“I myself plan to take part in the St. Petersburg Economic Forum on June 17 at your invitation,” Tokayev said. The St. Petersburg International Economic Forum (SPIEF) is an annual event that has been held in St. Petersburg since 1997. Since 2005, the President of Russia has been participating in the forum.
The main audience of the forum is the heads of the largest Russian and foreign companies, heads of state and political leaders, prime ministers, vice-premiers, ministers and governors.
Let us recall that yesterday, on May 16, the anniversary summit of the CSTO was held in Moscow. At the meeting, the President of Kazakhstan spoke, who noted that the main tasks of the CSTO are to strengthen peace and stability, international and regional security, protect the territorial integrity and sovereignty of member states. After the CSTO summit, Kassym-Jomart Tokayev met with Russian President Vladimir Putin.
