Ecologists will check on the fact of death of birds in Atyrau region
Ecologists of Atyrau region will check on the fact of death of birds in the "Akzhaiyk" nature reserve, ATPress.kz reports with the reference to the official site of the Ministry of Ecology, Geology and Natural Resources.
On November 4, 2020, inspectors of the Akzhayik reserve patrolled the subordinate territories on the Natural Reserve, and discovered the fact of death of birds, 15 carcasses of cormorants and 5 carcasses of seagulls in the area of the mouth of the right Yaitsk canal in the buffer zone, where dredging works of Pavlodar River Port LLP are carried out along the Novyi Canal. Relevant act was drawn up.
Employees of the Atyrau Regional Territorial Veterinary Inspectorate and the Atyrau Regional Territorial Inspectorate of Forestry and Wildlife visited the site of the death of birds, where the area was examined and samples were taken from the dead birds.
Taken samples were sent to Nur-Sultan to study the cause of death.
Also, on November 5, 2020, the employees of the Environmental Control of the Atyrau region and the Kazgydromet RSE in the Atyrau region took samples of soil, water and air for research.
In total, from November 4 to 9, 2020, 74 cormorant carcasses and 7 seagull carcasses were identified.
